Tulipa saxatilis is an attractive species tulip with bicoloured flowers, native to the rocky islands of the Aegean Sea, including Crete and Kos.

Given its short stature, Tulipa saxatilis is ideal for growing at the front of borders alongside other spring flowering perennials like daffodils, anemones and muscari. It’s a lovely choice for naturalising in grass and will gradually spread by underground runners. It also performs well in pots and containers.
